Lower the speed limit? I don't think so!

To the Editor:

Once again the government is considering to lower the speed limit to 55 mph. Everyone who is smart enough to pass a drivers test ought to be smart enough to know that if they don't slow down they'll be buying more gas than they figured. If you slow down you'll use less gas. Its just that easy. I've done that already and it doesn't take a law to tell me to slow down and save money.

Let those out there who are a bit dim-witted drive 75-85 mph and buy gas instead of food or rent. Drive fast, smoke cigarettes, and drink yourselves crazy! This way you won't have to worry about groceries and keeping a roof over your head.

Besides, when you speed, you get tickets that are very high plus your insurance rates skyrocket. Then if you have all the speed limit signs changed, how much will that cost $$,$$$,$$$,$$$.

Leave the speed limit the same and take the money you'll save on signs and tickets and give it back in rebates to good drivers. I could use a check. Enough said!
